When your app saves data, it needs a database. AyoSpeed IDE gives every full-stack app one automatically, so you do not have to choose or set anything up to get started. If you prefer to use a specific database, you can connect one instead.

The built-in database

By default, your app uses the database that comes with AyoSpeed IDE. It is fully managed, works out of the box, and is the right choice for most apps. There is nothing to configure and nothing to pay for separately.

Bring your own with Neon or Supabase

If you want your data in a Postgres database you can also use elsewhere, you can connect Neon or Supabase from Connect a service. AyoSpeed IDE creates the database for you and wires it into your app, so you still never touch any technical setup.

  • Neon — a serverless Postgres database, great when you want standard Postgres.
  • Supabase — Postgres plus extras like its own auth and file storage.
  • Both are set up for you; just pick one in Connect a service.

Which should you pick

If you are not sure, use the built-in database. Choose Neon or Supabase only when you specifically want your data in Postgres, for example to connect other tools to the same database later.

Connecting an outside database is available for full-stack apps. Turn it on first, then ask AyoWizzy to build the features that use it.
